Assistance with a Skilled Worker visa
This visa allows entry into the United Kingdom (leave to enter) and gives the right to work for individuals sponsored to carry out specific skilled work for an employer that holds a valid sponsor licence.
The duration of the visa varies depending on the length of the sponsorship, as determined by the employer, up to a maximum of five years.
After five years of continuous residence in the United Kingdom, the worker may apply for indefinite leave to remain.
To qualify for the visa, each applicant must score at least 70 points, including:
- A valid job offer from a licensed sponsor in the UK (England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland) for a role at RQF 3 or above (a list of eligible roles can be found here); and
- English language proficiency at level B1 or higher;
- The salary offered by the employer meets the minimum requirements for the specific role; or
- The role is on the UK's Shortage Occupation List; or
- The applicant holds an educational qualification degree (PhD or STEM PhD) in a field related to the proposed role.
