Assistance with a Skilled Worker dependant visa
This visa allows family members of a Skilled Worker visa applicant or holder to enter, live and work in the United Kingdom. The length of the dependant visa is directly linked to and matches the duration of the main applicant’s Skilled Worker visa. After five years of continuous residence in the United Kingdom, the dependant partner/child may apply for indefinite leave to remain. Dependant applications can be made at the same time as the main applicant’s Skilled Worker visa application or at a later stage.
To meet the eligibility criteria for a relation, you must be:
- A dependant partner of a Skilled Worker visa applicant or holder, and you must:
- Be aged 18 or over on the date of application; and
- Be married; or
- Be in a civil partnership; or
- Have been living together for the last two years prior to the date of application.
- A child of a Skilled Worker visa applicant or holder, and you must be:
- Under 18 years of age on the date of your first application.
- You are over 16 but not living independently.
