What is the EUSS (EU Settlement Scheme)?
The EUSS (European Union Settlement Scheme) is an immigration category in the United Kingdom that allows EU, EEA and Swiss citizens, as well as their families, who were living in the UK before 31 December 2020, to remain legally in the country after Brexit.
Types of status under the Settlement Scheme:
- Settled status (permanent status) – for individuals who have lived in the UK for five consecutive years;
- Pre-settled status (temporary status) – for individuals who have lived in the UK for less than five years.
Who can apply?
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens who resided in the UK before 31 December 2020.
Family members who are planning to join their relatives in the UK and who have family ties with EU citizens that were established before the end of the transition period.
Individuals with pre-settled status who complete five years of continuous, legal residence in the UK and wish to apply for settled status.
Features:

- Eligibility for British citizenship after 12 months with settled status.

Application process:
Applications are submitted online through the UK government’s platform. Our team will assist you at every step of the process for a seamless application.
Important information:
- Deadline: The official application deadline was 30 June 2021.
- Late applications: Late applications are still possible, but from 9 August 2023, strong evidence and valid reasons for the delay will be required.
- Automatic transitions: Some individuals with pre-settled status may be automatically transitioned to settled status. This does not apply to all applicants. Book a consultation appointment to learn more.
- Links with an EU citizen: When applying as a family member of an EU citizen, it must be proved that the relationship existed before 31 December 2020.
- Proof of residence before 31 December 2020: Documents such as bank statements, employment contracts, tax documents, rental agreements, letters from institutions, etc. may be required to verify residency.
